Beautiful and exceptionally large “Barbedienne” coupe.

Large ornate elegant bronze coupe on beautiful pedestal and ornamented with beautiful high relief in the centre and on the ears in neo-Greek style.

Late 19th century. France.

Signed on the base ring.

Stands on a graceful pedestal and has two elegantly decorated handles/ears.

These are richly decorated both at the top and bottom.

Ferdinand Barbedienne (1810 – 1892) was a French entrepreneur, founder of an industrial bronze foundry.

Nice, neat condition with small signs of age, small not really disturbing dents in the bowl.

Can be polished for more lustre.
