Description | This is a high ornamental vase with a long neck made with the powder glass technique.
The underside is neatly polished. Signed Daum Nancy at the bottom of the vase (see photos). The vase is in perfect condition, undamaged. With the Daum brothers the growth in the new Art Nouveau period started. Talented artists were attracted, such as Jacques Gruber in 1893, Henri Bergé in 1895, Amalric Walter in 1904 and the Schneider brothers. Several new techniques were developed and patents were established, such as rolling hot glass in coloured powder glass, which caused a speckled outside- or interlayer. |
